How to Eat Healthy for Idiots

Want to know how to eat healthy?

Most people have no idea how they are slowly committing suicide with what they eat…

Why well for 2 main reasons, 1. Because it’s easy to just eat whatever comes your way and 2. Because most of the food products sold today are literally poison.

But you want to learn how to eat healthy, you decided to read this article because you wanted to know what you’re putting in your mouth and be conscious about what you put in your body. And I’m going to deliver…

Hot to Eat Healthy for Idiots

First of all understand what food does for your body and how your body handles food… Contrary to popular belief it’s not really about how much you eat but rather what you eat that will affect your health and nutrition.

What do you need from food?

The things we need from food are energy, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Why does your body need energy?

Well other than the obvious reasons like being awake… Your brain needs energy to function and keep your lungs, heart, stomach and so on working properly, however if you get more energy than what your body can handle at one time, your body will start to store it as fat.

What are the sources of energy in food?
Sugar, Fat and Carbs…

These are like fuel on a car.

Fat is like regular gas, a new car will run perfectly on regular gas and it will keep the engine healthy for years to come.

Carbs are like diesel, if you use it on a regular car once or twice it won’t damage the car but use it too often and you’ll be taking the bus.

And finally Sugar is like putting Jet fuel on a Volkswagen Beetle it’s way too much power for that machine.
So if you want to eat healthy you need to manage your fuel sources.

Limit the amount of sugar and carbs you eat every day and use fat as a healthier way to get energy (I know that goes against what most doctors have told you all of your life but it’s true).

Also if want to better use the energy you eat (or the energy you have stored as fat) you need to be doing exercise.

I’m sure you remember talking about protein in Biology class, but just in case you don’t to summarize, you need protein to rebuild muscle, burn fat, maintain tissues, build new cells and more.
Your hair, nails, the outer layer of your skin is all made from proteins so needless to say, you need protein in your diet and you need it in every meal…

Where can you find protein?
– Meat
– Legumes
– Certain Vegetables like Mushrooms or Eggplant
– Some Grains like Quinoa or Soy
– Dairy Products
– Eggs

Always incorporate Protein in every meal, however beware of eating too much protein turns that protein into sugar, it dehydrates you and it can make you lose weight way too fast (and trust me on this one losing or putting on weight that fast is not good).

Also stay away from processed meats…
Basically anything that comes prepackaged, bacon, hamburgers, sausage, chicken nuggets, etc. the process to make these products makes them extremely toxic for your body.

It was recently discovered that eating bacon on a regular basis is the equivalent of smoking a pack of cigarettes a day…

Stay away from the light!
Vitamins and Minerals
Most people in the US especially will tend to take multivitamin supplements every day but in reality you don’t need them if you have a healthy diet…

How do you get these vitamins?
Fruits and Vegetables…

Fruits however contain sugar and remember I said you shouldn’t abuse sugar?
Most people think a healthy breakfast is a bowl of fruit and granola…
Not really.
The fruit has sugar, the granola has sugar and insane amounts of sodium, some people even put honey on top of it all adding even more sugar and wash it all down with juice!
Your body can’t possibly use that much energy so it stores it as fat.
The best way to get these vitamins and minerals is vegetables!
(And some fruits like tomatoes and avocados)

You can never go wrong by putting some green on your plate especially green vegetables are a great health boost in many many ways.

It’s even been proven that a diet with lots of vegetables in it can prevent cancer!

In Conclusion…

If you want to eat healthy you have to follow these 3 steps:
1. Cut down on the sugar and carbs.
2. Have Protein on every meal.
3. Eat lots of vegetables.

Now a few pointers before you go…

Beware of hidden sugars

Most processed products, even things that are deemed “healthy” contain high levels of sugar.
Things like:
– Low fat yogurt
– Granola
– Cereal
– Protein Bars
– Energy Drinks
– Salad Dressing
– Ketchup
– And many many more…

And the labels always try to confuse you by using different terms like:
Sucrose, Glucose, Fructose, High Fructose Corn Syrup…
So beware of hidden sugars.
Stay away from artificial stuff!
Artificial sweeteners especially…

Most people believe that artificial sweeteners are a healthy alternative to sugar but in reality it’s healthier to drink a regular soda than it is to drink a “diet soda”.

Artificial sweeteners don’t exist in nature therefore your body does not know what to do with it…

What ends up happening is your body identifies it as a possible threat so it stores it in fat in order to keep it away from the body.

Follow these idiot proof steps and you will improve your overall health.

Let me know if you got value out of this and if you have questions leave them in the comments.
Make it a great day.
